Hacked Voyager software?

I know that with the population of this forum there is someone out there that has or has considered the idea of hacking into their ipods, their playstation 2, their Wii, their cell phones ro replace the operating system to make it do what YOU wanted it to do and look how YOU want it to look.

Of corse im not saying anything about the software or RL. Im just wondering if anyone has thought about building their own software for the voyager and what that might entail or what kind of goofy startup messages you might put on there.

Wouldn’t you rather use the time and energy to make music with your Vger?

Oh Im not considering it really. I thought it would make for a good discussion though, my partner told me last night that he hacked into his WII and I wondered what it would take to hack into the Voyager.

Personally Ill let RL handle my software augmentations. I figured theres someone here though that likes to engage in that sort of thing, personalizing game consoles and cell phones and such and I wondered if they had thought of what it would entail to do something with the Voyager.

Well, a computer programmer familiar with the Z180 processor would have no problem hacking into the Voyager, adding, say, a software based step sequencer or apeggiator, having the screen read GOOD MORNING DAVE upon startup, or a number of things. My best friend could do it quite easily…you should see what he did to his TI-83 calculator!
