Good News for Vintage Chicagoland Moogs

http://deltronicschicago.com/progear.htm The Woodridge location has just hired two new techs who are quite familiar with Memorymoogs, in case anyone is interested. The Halstead location isn’t bad, either.

Just be warned, they are a bit pricey.

Thanks, museslave.

:::bows::: At your pedantic service.

Their prices aren’t too bad. I took my rouge to the Halsted location and they fixed some bad traces on the board, got the filter “Contour Amount” slider working, calibrated it and added an LFO rate LED for about $250. It’s great having a place like that within driving distance. Of course, I seperated the 2 OSC waves so I can have independent control of each, but somehow managed to short the new switch contacts to a resistor. Now it needs to go back to them because I’m an idiot.

That really isn’t bad. The Wrigleyville location, now closed, charged my buddy $500 for a poorly done mod on his Prodigy, that I had to fix myself. Oddly enough, they shorted a switch to a resistor. Luckily, no harm was done, as I checked out the mod before he plugged the unit in. I am SO glad to know that the remaining locations are much more reasonable and have hired excellent techs.

i love deltronics my friend brian works at the halsted location. i mostly just go straight through him now but ive had work done there before he started and was always happy.

I can vouche for Deltronics, really good peoples indeed! I recently was in town (now live in CU) to play with my long time pals in Chicago. I was super excited to crack out my new bit of gear…Tempest…when I realized that I left the power supply back @ home! :open_mouth:

My bandmate knows one of the techs @ Deltronics..I gave them the specs on the power supply, they scoured the shop and found some old ass yamaha brick-like supply that fit my specs exactly. All of this was on a Saturday, afterhours!

To add to this, I have various friends that have taken vintage gear, Moog included, to them and they’ve done a nice job.

Deltronics is garbage!

I’ve dealt with them once with getting a micromoog worked on, they were the rudest people I’ve ever dealt with, charged me $200 to replace ONE TRIMPOT, and didnt even clean or calibrate anything, which I had asked them to do.

I’ve found my new guy though, Soren Wittrup, owns CS Electronics, amazing tech. He’s so good Steve Albini hired him to help build his studio! He’s fare, does amazing work and is a great person to just talk to.

BOYCOTT DELTRONICS.

Which location did you go to? This sounds like the old Wrigleyville location’s business tactics. The remaining two locations are under new management, otherwise I wouldn’t be singing their praises.
