and by the way, not that it matters, but I’m the user that was called moogslob- locked myself out of my account, so took the easier route and made a new one-
thanks senor seis seis seis!
haha- S&H gives me the notes I wouldn’t otherwise think on the fly to hit-
it’s fun to do that live, the people who are paying attention’s eyebrows universally shoot up!
now if I could get a band to do these songs- and bandmates with Moogs! I had a live version of Moped10 back in the late 90s, with me on a Prodigy, a guy on an Opus3 and a MG-1, a bassist, and drummer that hid behind a black screen (his own bizarre request, or he didn’t want his friends seeing him in a synth rock band- haha)- when all Oscs of all 3 Moogs were in tune with each other (and the bass), it was a blast! I’m at my wife-set band number max though, and would have to quit one to start another- maybe some day! thanks for listening Moogers!
Moogslob, filtered, eh, whateva, haha- If forum members address me as “Moogslob”, with my “name” being “filtered”, it’ll confuse the lurkers, but isn’t that half the forum fun? Using “filtered” was kind-of an in joke for this forum too, if you get what I’m referring to- ha
I like your tune alien, more of a samba than a bossa, and samba beats are always fun to improv around- I like the sirens at the end!
I didn’t know the Dr Rhythm line went back that far! '83?!

Yeah, that siren patch was from the Korg Mono/Poly that has a differential glide. Meaning all four oscillators have slightly different glide speeds.

Yep, it was the very first drum machine with that name, under the Boss brand from Roland. I bought mine new back in 1984 and it cost me around $125 back then. I was 19 years old.
Whew how time flies !!
This is nice too… but I perfer Mack Truck… behind me!
Do all the vids on your Youtube channel are tracks?
you mean, are all the vids my tunes? if so, yes- the videos were done by me with help from my friends/family, over the past couple of years- I recorded the music for the videos over a span from '91 to '11, “Pornamento” at the early end of the spectrum and “Mack Truck” and this bossa done recently-
and thanks, I’ve always preferred that one too, haha- the direct ones always win out!
I do remember you signing off (and how and why) and when I saw filtered’s first post soon thereafter, I was highly suspicious something afoul was happening. Luckily you identified in this post and I like you music, so it was a nice moment
Where did you find the old pics and footage for this?
I dug dug dug online and saved everything to my hard drive- Lots of photos and super 8 videos from the 50s and older- I kept coming back to one found depicting a day in the life of a Tasmanian family in the late 40s/early 50s(?)- It was odd in its documentation of every thing the family did, and having both parents in the frame most of the time made me wonder who was doing the shooting and why!? Of course there’re normal answers to these questions, but who to ask? The poster never responded to my questions, so I guess I’ll never know- And thanks! Creepy/sad was what I was aiming for!
Glad you like “Down Here” steeeeev, even if Moog free- ! The guitar’s an Eastwood Airline copy, but I prefer its wooden heft vs the Airline Res-O-Glass, although an Airline would be better investment-wise…
