Current price is at $3800 with one bidder and a little over 3 days left. Shall we guess how much it will sell for? I’ll guess between $6500 to $8800. (I know, that’s a wide range! )
Hey John,
I was keeping an eye on that one too! That was a steal. The same Moodusonics Moog from Mike B. would have cost $12K plus. Had the 907 Fixed filter bank. Nice!
I’m a big fan of the small footprint Modulars like that one. Everthing you need to get that Moog sound. I would prefer a Roland 700 Lab (Block 8 ) over the big monster any day. Same with an Arp 2500 wing with 3 VCO, noise, EG, VCF, VCA. Can always add LFO’s and extras outside those small modulars, while they give the important characteristics that make the Moog, Arp, Roland sound.
The small Moop 1P I have is a good example of this. All of the parts from the CP3 mixers to the 902 VCA together are what make the unique tone.
Yeah, the buyer is gonna be happy! Especially if he pays to have Kevin refurb it for him!
I actually don’t see all that many Moog modulars for restoration.
Since moving to this home (the geodesic dome), I’ve seen 3 Moog 55s, a 12, a 15, a couple small racks and a large custom system.
Not all that many in 6+ years.
Roughly one a year.
If you can handle some large, unedited photos (straight from my camera), here’s what I just finished after about 14 or so months of work. http://www.synthfool.com/chembros_buchla100
Older than most Moog modulars.
(oldest Moogs I’ve probably ever seen were Gil Melle’s or Ralph Swickard’s.)
Fwiw, I’m considering bringing back my old site with all the (mostly) rare pics, schemos and all that. This directory above was added for testing purposes of a script that will produce thumbnails and automatically watermark the pics.
So that’s why they’re such huge pics and there’s no HTML.
But probably some nice desktop wallpaper images in there somewhere.
