Sound like an Electro Harmonix Big Muff
Take it from a moog freak who actually is/was a guitarist first! It’s a vintage Muff for sure! I’ve recently dinked around with some fuzz stuff (as well as other pedal arrangements) with my moogs…it can be tricky to get a reasonable sound especially when you want the warm fatness of slightly out of tune oscs which can frankly just distort the piss outta the sound when it comes through the pedal. Cutting leads of course are the best. Cheers HIMMM
I’m no guitar pedal expert, but I’ve been around the Big Muff to notice that it really sucks the low end from whatever you run through it. It still sounds good,though!
I’ve been loving the sound of the ZVex Fuzz Factory (And Fuzz Probe, for thereminic goodness) lately.
More chaotic than a Bg Muff, and capable of more deliberate evil.

Cruel, so how does it sound with your Moog? right now I am plugging mine into a Vox Tonelab and I quite like it but have not tried to add a pedal to the mix.

Man, if you want chaos.. try the Maestro Fuzztain… I love mine, but it is a beast.
If you’re looking to go cheap, the Ibanez fuzztone was a great value for its sound in 1997. If ever I still use it, it still holds up nicely.
yeah, but whatever you do don’t get that Ibanez Tonelok fuzz pedal. It’s awful and the switch will crap out just like all other toneloks.
I’ve got a russian muff in my house but it’s busted. There is some black wire that isn’t connected to anything, but I don’t know where it goes.

Try a Boss ODB (bass overdrive)
it has a clean/dirty mix control so you don’t lose the bottom end

Fulltone pedals are amazing. They’ve got an overdrive for whatever ails you.

It depends on how shitty you want to sound. The first recorded example of distortion (“Rumble” by Link Wray) was achieved that way, but I don’t see much point in doing it anymore. Especially if you want fuzz. Holes in your speaker will just sound lo-fi, not fuzzy.

Interesting on the Fulltone Overdrive.. I’ve been checking that out lately.. Looks very cool… Eisley uses one, and it sounds amazing.. (saw them live in Los Angeles last month)
