FS/FT: Modded Moog MG-1 and Arp Omni MkI for Sub 37

Well, the time has come for me to start playing shows with a synth. I need something that can call up presets with midi to make things easier on me since I also play guitar and sing. So I’m selling my modded Moog MG-1 and an Arp Omni MkI. It will be a couple days before I can get pictures. I’d much rather trade these for a Sub 37 than worry about paypal fees and separate shipping. I can add a little cash for anybody that’s interested in a trade. I’m located near Detroit, MI. Am willing to ship.

Moog MG-1 - $450 shipped and pp’d

The Good
All of the goo has been removed and slide pots cleaned. It’s also modded to have some really great features. Most of these are internal, there are only 4 extra pots added to the top that are visible. You can check out full details of all of the mods here http://forum.moogmusic.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=22856. It sounds amazing now and has been a very valuable tool in my studio. You’d be hard pressed to find a better sounding MG-1 and I do believe the mods make this synth compete with much more valuable synths. Here is a list of mods included:
Minimoog Filter Mod
Continuous Glide and re-trigger circuit
Replaced digital noise with analog noise chip
Osc2 detune to full octave up and down
Increased audio output level
Ring Mod input from Osc 1 square only to post-switch/pre-mixer Osc 1
Sustain added to the envelop generator
Osc 1 and 2 PWM control
Osc 2 Detune/pitch modulation pot
RCA outputs removed and 1/4" jack added
Insert jack on the back for pre-filter audio input

The Bad
The previous owner had started to remove the goo. He left whatever cleaner he used on it for too long. It melted together all of the keys at the back (inside the synth). I had to go through and cut them all apart. Some of them had parts of the plastic break off (not visible from the outside). Because of this, the keys were not very level. I went and added a metal bar inside that added extra support for the keys. They also look a little funky and one key is broken at the end. So, while it is still very usable, the keyboard is far from great condition. This is why I priced the synth at much lower than the usually price for restored MG-1s. I’ll add pictures asap.

Arp Omni MkI - $600 shipped and pp’d

The Good
All of the tantalum caps were replaced with Elna Silmic II electrolytic capacitors. Slide pots and all connectors cleaned with deoxit. It was one hell of a job. You rarely see these fully restored because of how much work is needed to actually complete it. I also changed out the electrolyic caps in the PSU and performed the manufacturer’s recommended PSU mod/upgrade. It sounds great!!

The Bad
One key is out. All of the switches were cleaned, but they don’t always work on first push. Sometimes the release doesn’t seem to work correctly. It’s rare that it happens (one happened twice over the course of a year of regular use). It’s missing a couple slider knobs and is in pretty used/road worn condition. Please keep in mind that I’ll be paying a ton for shipping on this sucker. It’s huge.
