Well I have had my Voyager for a year now. I have learned a lot about synthesis with the voyager, but I am still very much a novice.

Now I am jumping into the world of sequencing. I have ordered the Frostwave Fat controller after seeing some glowing reviews on this forum.

I have never used a sequencer, so I figured this one would be the easiest to use since it has a lot less controls than many others I have seen.

Can you guys give me your opinions on its ease of use and maybe some pointers for use with the voyager?

I will be using this for live performance as well.

One more thing. I know this sounds very novice…but thats what I am.

I did some searches on this forum and a few pwople talked about sequencing the filter and some other parameters, But I can sequence notes right?

Thats mainly why I got it to sequence notes really fast, so I can tweak the filter and stuff. Hope I got the right box.

Hi ship,

I have a Fat Controller that I use with my Vger. It’ll do sixteen step sequences or eight steps while controlling filter cutoff, etc. It also has an S-trig-out that I use to sync up with my Poly6’ arpp. It’s really cool for fairly fast sequences while using the Vgers touchpad. Be sure to really tweak the Vgers controls while it’s sequencing to get a good feel for it. It’s a decent box but has it’s limitations (only sixteen steps). It also won’t save slider (note) info, so I believe it would be a bit cumbersome for live apps. Purchasing online was a bit hairy but overall I’m happy with mine.

Yes, you can sequence notes. Just send one of the channels gate to the envelope gate on the Voyager, and the cv out of the same channel to the pitch on the Voyager.

Then you can do some cool things like set some of the steps to slide and play with the slide amount on the frostwave, as well as the gate time. Enjoy it.

I recently purchased a Future Retro Mobius.
It does 16 steps and loops around at any step you desire .
It is programmable and I think it will do what you are looking for.
I don’t have a voyager but it does the stuff on my nord lead 2x
