FreqBox starts in bypass mode on power up

Greetings! I own several Moogerfooger pedals, and the FreqBox is the only one that starts off in bypass mode on power up. All the rest are engaged and ready to go when turned on. It’s not that big of a deal, but still kinda annoying. Anyone else notice this?

Interestingly, when I tested this just now before posting, I flicked the power off and back on (I’m using one of those “squid” type power cables to power a few of the pedals), and the FreqBox came on engaged (very unusual), and the Phaser (which has been engaged) came on in bypass mode. I’ve never seen it do that before.

So maybe a better question is this: Is there a way to ensure that the Moogerfoogers always start off engaged on power up?

You know what’s bizarre? My 'Foogers always used to power up and they’d be ON. I was playing around with my stuff today, and I noticed when I kicked the power strip on, they were on bypass. Crazy, right? So you and I seem to be in the same boat! :open_mouth:

mine does this too. don’t mind it too much though, 107 is mainly used as a 3rd osc for my LP.

My Freq is the only one that does that as well. It doesn’t bother me either, I don’t know why.

I like to have everything ON anyway, and then turn the Mix amount when Im ready for it, but I think we synth players need an extra hand on a long arm so that we don’t have to stop playing and tweaking our foogers…

Well we could just get the multipedal.

I believe it is because the freqbox is one of the only foogers to be true bypass…all but the freqbox and the murf. For some reason this means when they are first powered on they are in bypass as opposed to active for the non true bypass foogers…hope that helps solve the mystery!

Hmmm… Well, my MuRF powers on in active mode. So I guess I’m still mystified.

I didn’t think that any of them were true bypass.

You and me both.
