First of all, the lights have no impact on the functionality of the wheels. Second, is it just the mod wheel, or is the pitch wheel affected as well? It sounds like maybe a bad solder joint on the wheel pot. Not much to go wrong on the wheels. Perhaps E-mail Amos At M00g Music D0t com? 
it is only the mod wheel which is not responding. i will take your advice and email him soon
