I’m on firmware 1.1 and I am going through all the new features one by one, I’ve noticed something weird with the Filter Velocity Amount … basically it has no effect?
I start with a regular Init Preset, lower the filter cutoff to about 1KHz, press “Knob Shift”, whack the filter envelope “Sustain” (which is now “Filter Velocity Amount”) up to 10.
And then play soft or hard on the keyboard - makes no difference.
So then I thought maybe I needed some Filter Envelope involved - made no difference either not matter what the setting.
I’ve re-read the section in the manual, and I don’t think I’m missing anything. Is this a bug? Anyone else get it to work?
I can confirm the Filter Velocity Amount is working fine here on my SubPhatty.
But maybe your question was about the Sub37? Hard to tell from your mail. And this forum section is about all the Phatties: Little Phatty, SubPhatty and Sub(Phatty)37.
Anyway, the usage is the same:
Anyway, be sure to use a sound with a good amount of the filter EG to cutoff modulation amount to test with the Filter Velocity Amount parameter. The velocity is scaling the amount of the EG Amount. So if the EG Amount in the filter section is set or stored at zero, there will no change no matter what you set on the Filter Velocity Amount.
A low velocity will give nearly no EG modulation to the filter at all. A max velocity will use the set EG Amount parameter. So the Filter Velocity Amount is changing the EG Amount actually. Not the filter itself.
Aha! This was the key point, thanks. I have it wokring fine now. And yes, this was on the Sub 37, I thought this was a dedicated Sub 37 forum, but I now see it’s for all Phatties. Thanks!
