I love my new Rack Mount, but I’m "rack"ing my brain (sorry about the bad pun) to find a great keyboard controller, or synth, with a joystick. I’m looking for:
Joystick doesn’t produce digital “stepping” when bending large intervals (an octave or more)
The Edirol PCR-800 appears to fit the bill. Are you sure it can bend pitch without digital artifacts Funk? The Studiologic has a piano action, which I don’t want. I have a similar keyboard in my Alesis QS8.
smut, my Novation X-Station cannot bend pitch without artifacts. I know the other Novations are different in some ways…do you actually use one to bend pitch large intervals?
I hope to hear from people actually using particular instruments to bend pitch, including doing “whammy bar” bending of 1-2 octaves. To be honest, I’m not crazy about controllers and I’d rather purchase a synth with these capabilties. I’m crazy about the Korg Triton Extreme, but I’d like to hear from someone with experience using it with the Voyager if possible.
Can anyone verify that it is even possible to bend pitch by large intervals on the Voyager using any midi keyboard, without digital artifacts in the upper register?
