i have a few problems with my LP. actually its not usable.
two weeks ago i updated to OS2.0. my presets were deleted (i knew this) and i didn’t knwo how to get the new ones on my LP.
i had a few other problems with the OS and i did a Factory Reset hoping to get back my OS1.04 or something.
since then i get “SEND_FIRMWARE SX DATA ERROR 3”.
my presets have names like “::@ CJ(symbol for OMEGA):::::”
and the LP goes down after playing around a bit with the message “FATAL ERROR KEYBOARD OVERRUN”.
I hoped to repair this by using OS2.1, but its still the same.
can anybody help me getting out of this trouble? please …
i need a working OS and presets, how can i get this?
usually a factory reset will fix this.
If you have done a factory reset and you get crazy garbled stuff afterwards,
then it means that the preset data which is supposed to be in the EEPROM is corrupted.
usually, a successful SysEx firmware update will put the correct info in the EEPROM and then a Factory Restore will work.
Please email me if you haven’t and tell me what model LP you have, what type of computer, what OS version is on the computer, and what MIDI interface you use. Unfortunately, the Little Phatty has a very large single sysEx file for its OS and this is challenging to a number of MIDI interfaces out there. These type of errors are all due to data errors while transferring the sysEx from your computer to the LP.
In all cases, if sysEx completely fails, the synth can be reprogrammed using a USB debug adaptor, which you can order from Silicon Laboratories for about $35. Outside the USA, this debug adaptor is carried by Farnell, who operate in most countries worldwide. In most cases, changing the sysEx delivery system to one that has no errors will allow a complete and successful recovery.
Good luck, and keep in touch with me for further help!
