Etherwave Pro vs. Etherwave regularis

Hi,
I just saw the Moog movie and am stoked on getting a theremin pretty soon..Did a bit of research but can’t seem to find much difference between the 2 main theremins moog offers besides the fact that on the Pro you can Go an extra 1.5 Octaves…

Can’t really see any other functional differences…

Can anyone illustrate?

thanks so much!!

The Pro has Control Voltage out. That would be very handy if you used other synths or modules that had that feature. The Moogerfooger pedals and the Voyager all have CV in and out. The Pro and those Mooger pedals would be an amazing setup. It looks like the Pro also has more tone control and a filter.

I recently bought a 50th Anniversary Edition ether and love it. There is a very noticeable difference in tonality between the two(Pro and Ether). And then there is price. I would suggest either of the two, you’ll love them.

The CV feature is enough to convince me.
I have a Voyager and 2 MFs… plan to get more…
So, the EWave Pro it is!! I’ll start saving!

Thanks so much!!

There are several differences which resulted in my selling my standard and getting the pro:

  1. The standard allows you to alter the tonality, to an extend, with a variable dial. The EPro has a switch with several standard tone qualities so you will always get the same sounds rather than being similar. In other words, the EPro has tonal presets and variability, the Standard does not.

  2. The pro allows you to select the octave range, the standard does not.

  3. And most importantly, the pitch response in relation to the position of the hand near the pitch antenna is more consistant in the pro, making it the more accurate to play and develop hand positions. The standard is good (better than other theremins in its price class), but the pro is better.

it’s as simple as this, the EPro sounds better, and is easier to play
