Etherwave is humming?

Hallo
I have bought the Big Briar Etherwave. I tried it out and it works fine but in some Situations I can hear a little bit humming (50hz) depending on the left Hand Position (Volume). It appears when the volume it low but not off. Anyone made expiriences similar to that?
Another Question: What Output Voltage has the Power Supply? Is it 14VAc? Anyone measured it?
A last Equestion: Is there anyone who customized his Theremin to a left Hand Theremin?
Thank you very much for your help

Hi:

I’ve experienced buzzing similar to that which you describe. I assume you’re connecting to an amplifier. The most common cure (it’s worked for me every time) is to make sure that all of your components are connected to the same circuit. The very first time it happened I had my amplifier plugged into a an outlet different from the one my theremin was plugged into. A friend pointed out that it could very well be the source of the problem. Sure enough, once I had everything on the same surge protector, all going into the same electrical outlet, the buzz was gone.

If the problem persists. disconnect from EVERYTHING and listen to your theremin right in your Etherwave’s headphone jack to determine if the buzz is still there. Try different outlets in different rooms. There’s a chance it’s the wiring in your home. I live in a very old house and I continue to have difficulty every now and then with everything from stereos to speakers.

You can always call Moog technical Support, too – they’re great.

Good luck.

Hi
Thank You for Your Reply
I will Try it in different rooms.
A Ground Loop is not the reason because the buzz is always (when only the Amp is grounded, only the Theremin is grounded or both are grounded). The buzz is not very loud, you can only hear it on zero beat when the volume antenna is on full volume. I think I can live with it. Perhaps the buzz is in the air (when you switch the theremin off or even pull off the power supply you can hear the buzz in the remaining second until the condensers empty). But as I said it, the buzz is very low.
