Editor/Librarian Not Connecting to Slim Phatty

I’m a new owner of the Slim Phatty. I purchased the librarian/editor to create and save some presets. I cannot get it connected. I always get “not connected” at the very top of window when I click Midi | Midi Setup. It never makes any progress receiving Sysex data. I’m selecting the correct device in this menu.

I’m using Win/7 and a SANOXY midi/USB converter (the one on Amazon).

I’m able to do perform a full preset save using MIDI-OX, so that program doesn’t have an issue connecting. But, I’d like to use the librarian/editor, since I paid for it, and since it has many more features.

I also don’t have any issues connecting the SP to a Roland keyboard for input using a MIDI to MIDI cable.

Any ideas?

Problem solved - it was the MIDI to USB converter. The $5 converter (from Amazon) was the culprit. The $34 M-Audio Midisport Uno worked. It was confusing because the $5 one worked with MIDI-OX, but not Librarian. The lesson is if you spring for the Librarian, get the better MIDI/USB converter too.
