Has anyone tried to use moogerfoogers to get a dubstep sound? I’m thinking a number of freq boxes and maybe a number of mf 101’s.
Wtf is dubstep? Everything I have heard called dubstep just sounds like electronica. It seems like all new electronic music is called dubstep.
Agreed, +1
you need these things -
high gain distortion pedal (or the freqbox), low pass filter with an expression pedal on cut. If your serious Id get an MP-201, sync it and use an lfo
I completed that for you ![]()
I got kind of close on this track with only a MF-101 and a Mf-105 (analog) and a few EP-2’s.

This was before I knew what dubstep was in 2009. I then tried to form a dubstep band with some spinners and other musicians, but it just didn’t pan out.
I was going to use my Mp-201 for this project among others, but it just wasn’t intuitive enough for me. Now, I’m selling it : http://www.ebay.com/itm/Moog-MP-201-Near-Mint-Excellent-Condition-/110910340206?pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item19d2c57c6e#ht_500wt_951
Sync an LFO to filter cutoff on MF 101, use the expression pedal for drive. If you want to get really nasty, add in some ring modulator or another modulation pedal. But the filter is the key.
