Drum Sequencing on Moog Modular - help / advice needed

Hi all,

This is my first post on the forum and I’m hoping you might be able to help or direct me to some much needed online advice or tutorial.

I am currently using the Arturia emulation of the Moog Modular system on my Mac and would like to learn more about creating drum sequences on the system. I’ve read the manual from cover to cover and am fairly comfortable with the system as a whole but the sequencer section in the manual wasn’t so helpful.

The sort of thing I’m looking to create is similar to Jonny Greenwood’s use of the Analogue Systems modular sequencer for the Radiohead song, Idioteque. Of course, this isn’t a moog sequencer but on inspection (on the face of it at least) the two units look more or less similar.

Anyways, similarities or not, I was hoping someone on the forum could either direct me to any online tutorials on sequencing using analogue systems like that or might be able to help me with this specific question I have:
On listening to Idioteque, the deep kick drum part seems to be playing a distinct pattern away from the hi-hat pattern, however, I can’t find a way of making this happen at the moment - so the deeper noises I create simply follow the higher noises across the sequence.

I appreciate that this is a software question on an (ostensibly) hardware forum but I suppose it relates to the hardware functionality of the Moog Modular system.

If anyone can help it would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
CL

Don’t have the software program. Does it have the 961 interface and the sequential switch to go with the 960?
You are going to need to use the trigger interface and 3rd row timing to get it to work. You are alos going to need more than one instance of the 960. Trigger sequencers work much better as drum sequencers.
