My voyager rack works fine, except when sending the machine quick midi notes, it drops a few here and there though not consistent enough to be predictable. It is making the machine useless to me for playing midi sequences through.
First I’ll say that I’ve connected it solely through my interface and it drops notes still, and I’ve never had this issue with any other midi synth (new or old).
Is there just something I’m missing or is does my voyager just have broken midi?
you might have an older version of the firmware, as this has been improved in recent versions… in any case, the problem happens when there’s no time at all between the end of one MIDI note and the start of the next. You can send very quick notes indeed, provided you can put a little gap between them. grid-style sequencers sometimes don’t allow this but most DAW-type things do.
In any case my first suggestion is to update the firmware. Good luck!
