Does the Moog MF-101's drive function distort?

I was just wondering…since I’d like to use it with a drum machine… anyone doing this and if so, how’s it working out?

I use MF-101 with samples and virtual synths an is amaizing the “analog feel” that give to the sounds. MF aren´t true bypass but don´t distort. The drive function is only an analog amplification function that is always ON (even with the MF is bypassed). I think it doesnt distort, but if you put the drive so hard a loussy sound will came (not “distort”, but a little “loussy distort” may be appear).

I think by “distort” he means overdrive.

Yes, they can be pushed to saturate quite nicely for a warm, analog overdrive.

Exactly OysterRock… you think it’ll work well to add a little color to drum machines (outside of the filter that is)?

I think it will add a very nice sound to the drum machine.

Yeah!!! I use with virtual synth and works fine. With a drum machine will sounds great, too.

it overdrives awesomely; i use it for warming up vox and drums on just about every track. the 101 is still my most used fooger for this very reason.
