Disappearing User Presets with 0.9.55 / 1.1.28

Running OSX 0.9.55 / 1.1.28

When I turn on editor, I see my User Presets (Middle Column) for a millisecond and then they are gone. Operator error (OE) or bug? If OE, what am I doing wrong?
