differences between the orbiter and the voyager

what are the main differences?

do you think they use all the same VCO, VCF circuts

I like the sound of the “overload” control in the filter section.
does the voyager have anything like that?

it seems like the orbiter doesn’t have any velocity/aftertouch, not in the mod section anyway

only 1 mod buss as well, does that mean you can’t use the LFO on the pitch and the filter at the same time? I’m used to roland synths where you just have a mod amount slider on each section. But the Orbiter has inputs for pitch, filter and volume so it’s not a huge deal that it only has 1 buss.

it’s cool having those 3 inputs, imagine playing the voyager with its own keyboard and playing the new synth with the touchpad at the same time!
there’s one huge reason to get this new synth if you already own a voyager!

just realised

the new synth doesn’t have as much range in the octave of each VCO!

does this mean that it can’t get the sonic range of the voyager?

or that you just can’t space the VCOs as far apart as on the voyager?

It does have an octave up/down by the pitch/mod wheels. Thats one thing it has on the MMV!

Doesn’t have noise/S&H :frowning:
Oh, well! Gotta cut cost somehow!

yeah but that would effect both VCOs at once, you couldn’t have as much dynamic range between the octaves, as on the voyager.

is the MMV’s pitch wheel spring-loaded too? and does that mean, it’ll flip back to the center when you let go from any point? or… just that it’ll notch into place when you get it back to the center (like the Sources’)? just wondering if this is something new from moog.

Yeah, that filter ‘overload’ is gonna be rad, can’t wait to hear this new moog.

i can live with it, but i also wonder why they didnt overlap the ranges a little between the 2 osc’s. probably a stupid question, but which of the octave up/down buttons will be the default? I think when you turn the Source on, it’s default is the lower octave.

ps - i heard the “***” note-priority is selectable like the MMV (w/last note), if anyone else cares like i do.
