Difference Between the Voyager Keyboard and RME

I was just wandering if anyone could give me a complete list of the differences between the keyboarded version of the voyager and the RME version. I have heard the only difference is that the keyboard addition has a touch screen while the RME version does not. But is everything else the same or not?

On the topic of the touch screen… I am also going to be buying a Korg Kaossilator Pro and was wondering if I would be able to use the X/Y pad on that for the same purpose and in the same capacity as the one on the keyboard version.

Lastly, I was wondering if anybody had heard if the Taurus 3 is capable of being a voice in a Polymode set up (with a Little Phatty and Voyager RME)

I am new to the hardware side of synths so please forgive my ignorance and thank you all in advance for your help.

The Voyager RME is the same as the keyboard version minus the keyboard, cv inputs, pitch/mod wheels and a touchpad. Everything else should be the same.

I don’t know if the kaoss pad puts out X Y and area cv’s in addition to a gate or if there is a Midi equivalent.

The Taurus is capable of tracking @ 1 volt per octave on the pitch CV input and is capable of being a second voice in a polychain setup.

Consult the manuals of the products for more invaluable information.

The Kaossilator Pro does not send out voltage, only MIDI. While you can assign it to control the Voyager’s various parameters, it is not nearly as flexible as a control surface than the Voyager’s touch screen. The Voyager also has area, in addition to x and y. I played the Kaossillator Pro for a few minutes at NAMM, and in my opinion it is a huge waste of money. I have the original one and the Pro takes all the fun out of it.

No you are wrong, i have keyboarded version of the voyager with touch screen. Actually it varies as per model.

I recently asked basically the same thing.
go to the voyager forum and read the thread – [Poll] “RME owners ever wish you’d got a Keyboard or viceversa”

It really helped me.

as for the kaoss pad/touchscreen I think the two are in totally seperate ball games.
Personaly If I were to get a KP it would be the KP3 no question
