i’m seriously considering getting a prodigy in the very very near future, but wanted to do a little research before i went and paid for it. what is a prodigy mkII versus just a regular prodigy? what are the differences between the early and later models?
i looked online for a history on the prodigy but came up short.
any help would be great.
Late model Prodigys have control voltage input/output jacks for the oscillators, filter and gates. Early models only had one audio out, although a kit was made available for a while back in the 80s. Schematics are available (and kits from a company in Britain) online to add CV and audio i/o and other modifications.
Good luck. Prodigys are great. It was my first Moog back in 81.
okay, so when someone says they have a prodigy mkII does that just mean it’s a later model with the extra inputs?
thanks!
Extra C/V i/o is all that is different.
Sound and keyboard are exactly the same. The wood might be nicer on the later models, but that’s just an uneducated observation based on photos I’ve seen.
