did i just fry my MF-101

hello

i used the wrong power supply with my moogerfooger filter … the moogerfooger received 24v instead of 9v for ten minutes, until it started acting weird, and i realized i had plugged the PSU of my electro harmonix pedal …

now i just have some hum coming out of it. the input signal makes the level led blink, but it cannot be heard. just that hum, and some high pitched noise …

is my moogerfooger dead ? it’s not under warranty… contacted moog though. what can i do to fix it ? i’m not afraid to solder a few components …

damn ! :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

thanks

Yeah, it’s probably fried. E-mail Amos {at} moogmusic(D0t C0m) for what your options might be.

Its probably fried. If it was under warranty it wouldn’t be any longer. They will gladly fix it. THey also have a fast turnaround time.

Eric

I labeled all my wall warts with a Brother label maker.

No more confusion.

thanks

anybody has the schematics of the mf-101 ?
if sending it to moog is too expensive i was thinking about giving it to a local electronician …

it won’t be expensive.

No schems exist for current Moog products with the exception of the Theremin. I think that stuff right now is propriatary information…top secret company documents.

Eric

i did that to my electribe es1 recently. its actually still getting fixed cuz they had to order parts from korg, but it was under $100 to fix ithink like $50 maybe.

Is it bad to under power your moogerfoogers? I just noticed the adapter that came with my 102 (that I bought used) is only rated at 7.5 volts. I have been using it this way for years. I have to crank the drive more on my 102 and now it makes sense. Is this bad for the moogerfooger though?

Not really. Just crank the drive, and use it like that. Of course, you can always get the proper supply from Moog. I’m sure they’d trade.

I would reccomend using the power supply reccomended in the manual.
