I’ve had my DFAM for about a month and a half. In that time the VCO2 knob on the mixer and the Pitch 1 knob have significantly loosened. The wobble a little and there isn’t much resistance to turn them.
It makes it difficult to have fine controls over these knobs.
My questions:
Is this something others have experienced?
Is this something I can fix myself or should I call Moog?
Assuming it’s the knobs and not the potentiometer. (Probably not looking at it again).
Usually this is caused by D-shaft type knobs.
You can try this: take the knob off, and put a little piece of scotch tape (1cm square) over the end of the shaft, then press the knob down over it. Used this on other similar devices with loose knobs.
If it’s the pot’s, you’ll have to have it serviced.
Ooo, one is a trimmer shaft. Guess it’s the pot for this one.
Interesting that they ‘loosened up’. that sounds like a mechanical tensioner failure of some kind.
If you can de/solder, and identify parts, yes you can fix this yourself.
