D50 Help needed.

Ok guys and gals…I’ve got all these sound cards from Voice Crystal but there is only a few patches on each one that I want. How do I get the ones I want on to the D50? Right now you can only load on card at a time but not individual patches. FYI when I say card I really mean a virtual cards cause they don’t make them for this board anymore. I downloaded them all to the computer. I just downloaded midiox but I don’t think there is a way to organize patches on it. Help an old guy out would you?

Cole

Actually they do:

Although I have to say their pricing strategy is a little unrealistic.

If you have no librarian and we’re talking sysex then what I would do is get a RAM card, load the card into the D-50’s RAM, then copy any sound you like to the RAM card. Load the next lot of sysex and so on. Once you fill one card maybe have a second card. When you have loaded the second card load this into your D-50 RAM et voila, you have a D-50 full of sounds and a RAM card full of sounds, doubling your available patches.

I don’t know if that will work because the only option I have on the D50 is Bulk load and bulk dump.

Yes, but you can save individual patches to a memory card. When saving a patch you just select, say, C-11 (Card) instead of I-11 (Internal). So bulk sysex to the internal RAM, save the patches you like to the card individually. I even downloaded the manual and the procedure is on page 48 of the Owner’s Manual.

Obviously bulk save the internal patches first if you want to restore them later.

Ok thanks. Sorry for the ignorance. HeHe I’ll try that.

No worries, bit of a Rolandophile here - JD-990, JD-800, Jupiter-4, CR-78, R-8M, RE-501, SH-09, did have D-10 and much more. Although their manuals are somewhat esoteric, for some reason I generally understand what’s going on in that whacky Japanese mind - the only exception being my Boss RC-50, that was some esoteric sh1t. However most of the digital stuff works the same way.
