CV to pitch calibration - is it possible ?

i recently bought a VX352 so that i could run my RME from my modular, and i noticed that that the RME gets progressively flat as i go up in pitch (quite badly), when sending CV s from my modular.

the same CVs track reasonably accurately with all my other oscillators, so i can only presume that the RME needs calibrating.

i have also checked the CVs with a digital multimeter and they are pretty accurately 1V per octave

can anyone tell me which pot is used for this calibration ?

cheers in advance

wow

nobody on here got a clue ??

not even the moog guys ??

I get similar results.Using a digital VOM and a Roland tuner, I get
the following input to the pitch CV in on a Voyager PE:
0 V no change
+1.028 up one octave
+2.05 up two octaves
+3.08 up three ovtaves
+4.11 up four octaves
-1.028 down one octave
-2.05 down two octaves
My Voyager does not have 1v/oct. scale on the pitch CV input.
Very noticable using an analog sequencer with a quantizer scaled for 1 volt/octave, my Voyager plays flat up the scales. Here was Moog answer to this in another post.

thanks my friend.

well ive tried really hard to get the 352 to help, and its just not happening for me,

there must be a pot inside the RME

When trying to run my modular from my Voyager I ran into the same thing. It output close to 1V/Oct but it is bipolar. OV is not the 1st (lowest) note possible. It is somewhere about the 3rd octave on a piano. I eventually had to buy a MIDI/CV convertor to drive my modular. I was able to do it using a Q125 signal processor to scale and offset the voltage, but you lose the use of that module and risk someone bumping it and ruining the fiddly tuning.

thats interesting, thats probably why i’m not getting it to work with the 352.

but yes, its dangerous to try and do a gig with a delicate setting on the 352 holding all the tuning together.

Just for fun, I just tried to run my Voyager with CV from the Encore.
It’s easy to transpose as any key you press on the Voyager sets the transposition. It does however go flat as you go up the scale so it isn’t responding to 1V/Oct. If I ever want to do this on a regular basis, I’ll have to save a setup in the Encore with the needed scaling to play in tune.
It of course tracks perfectly through MIDI. So the tracking error is both directions with CV’s.

on a side issue,

ive sent at least 9 or 10 messages to Moog tech support on various issues since i bought my RME last year, and havent had a single response.

has anyone else had this problem ?

its a bit disrespectful.

( i still get all their spam )

Check your spam box, especially if you use a Gmail account. I found every message from info ..{at} moog msuic dot com went there. Very annoying if you’re trying to order a Taurus!

yeah i dont have a spam box, its my own domain email, and i actually get the moog spam.
