CV out modification kit

Pretty keen on sorting out my LP with the CV out mod,
however, Im in Melbourne Australia,
not keen on sending it to the side of the world - so much $$$$ on shipping and weeks without it (heartbreak!)

Any chance of putting a kit together?
Plenty of very capable synth repair/engineer type people over here who are easily capable of doing it..
This guy for starters: http://www.synthservicemelbourne.com.au/

Or,
anyone in Aus prepared to take on the task from scratch?

Long shot I know…but worth a try

cheers

I’m not promoting the idea but you could probably reverse engineering the CV mod; the only issue would be having to build up the daughter board that sits at the bottom of the phatty. The delicate part is soldering some of the leads onto the main board halves; compared to the Analog board of the Voyager, the Phatty is space age (ummm, newer than new).

Here’s a link to a thread I posted some time ago that shows some pics of the innards. But if I were you, I’d see about getting a factory CV built like the Solar model (http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PhattySWCVor/), shipped from the states. I used to travel that way, or at least my company did, maybe somebody could carry it along and simply pay the $60 baggage fee. Then you could sell your existing Phatty.

Just an idea, maybe a bad one. (I seem to have plenty of those)

this idea is really not so bad

I am pretty sure the cv out mod kit has been sent directly to a moog authorized repair provider in the UK. It does not seem like something they want to send to customers directly (too many support issues I would think). I would contact mood support by phone to see if there is a place down your way that could perform the surgery.

When I purchased my LPII, I was originally looking at a Redback Edition, which had the CV out and flashing Mod wheels.

But a standard LPII came up at a price I couldn’t refuse. If i needed the CV out, i would have refused it.

If I could purchase the CV out modification as a kit, I would buy it (I’m an electronics tech in the daytime, so I don’t think it is beyond my expertise). Same goes with the flashing mod wheel I guess. Unfortunately, my LPII is now in Thailand, and I don’t trust the postal service to send my LPII anywhere for the Mod.
