I’m using an MFOS minikeyboard controller that generates CV out. I connect the CV out to my (awesome brand new) Little Phatty Stage II. There is no sound. I depress a key on the Moog and hold it down, and you suddenly start hearing the CV changes. I let up on the key, and you stop hearing the CV sequence. Is there a way to convince the Moog to react to CV on the input jack without requiring a keypress?
I got confused reading you. CV out of one should be connected to CV in of the other. is this what you did?
Normally, sending in a CV in the Pitch Input of your Phatty should set its pitch accordingly. What you may be missing is that you also need a Gate signal in order to trigger the envelope. Indeed pitch changes won’t be heard without opening the VCA.
Yes, the CV out from the MFOS minicontroller is hooked to the CV Pitch In on the LP.
So I added a patch cable to the CV Gate In. As soon as I plugged it in, the LP began playing – before either of the cables were hooked to the CV Out of the controller. Once plugged in to the controller, the pitch began varying, following the CV Pitch In correctly, but the tone remained on continuously, even when the keypress ended and the gate triggered.
Try using a TS cable from Gate IN on the LP to gate OUT on the MFOS. What are the voltages being put out of the MFOS device? The LP responds best to 1-5V. Strange things can happen if the voltage is higher than 5V.
