CV in to generate MIDI out data?

Greetings,

I’ve read the manual for the Slim Phatty and searched the board, and can’t find a clear answer to my question - I’m hoping you can help!

If I’m using an external CV source (such as an Etherwave Plus Theremin) to control, for example, the filter cutoff on the SP, will the MIDI OUT of the SP still send MIDI CC messages for that parameter (i.e., even though I’m not controlling the parameter with the manual filter control knob)? The manual states that "When you adjust any one of the SP’s four analog edit controls, MIDI Continuous Controller (CC) messages are generated and transmitted on the MIDI Out connector . . . " but is this the case even where the control is being controlled by an external CV signal?

If this is possible, it would seem to mean that the SP can, in effect, act as a CV->MIDI converter for the Etherwave Plus, which would be very cool for my particular needs . . .

Thanks in advance for your input!

well, if you’d read the manual literally, I’d say no.. But, as I don’t have any clue.. dunno

On the other hand, it seems highly unlikely. The CV inputs are analog and are going directly to the AMP/Filter/OSC without any conversion to digital data. The filter input is also just an Audio input, and it doesn’t send midi info about it. (in case of my LP stage 1). But maybe someone else has more conclusive info?

I don’t think the moog is a cv to midi converter though.

The LP is NOT a CV to MIDI converter, but as I recall, the Multipedal can be used as one.

hello i have a question, i have the LP with cv outputs. so can i use the LP as a Midi to cv converter?
