my filter cut off keeps dropping. I can play a series of notes andd then the filter closes, any one else have this problem?

What are your envelope settings? Try increasing the sustain.

As EricK has alluded, it’s likely that you’re playing in a non-detached (Legato) style by pressing the next key before releasing the previous key.
This is actually a feature of monophonic synthesis. It allows you to play a string of connected notes with the Filter Cutoff and Volume continuing through their envelopes. When you release all keys and play the next key, the envelopes will retrigger.
If an envelope’s SUSTAIN LEVEL is set low or at zero, the envelope is going to go there over time if you keep playing in a legato fashion.
This gives you two musically useful performance techniques, legato and detached.
If you don’t like having that option, you can send the Minitaur a MIDI message to change the TRIGGER MODE.
Sending MIDI CC#73 with a value of:
0-42 = LEGATO ON
43-84 = LEGATO OFF
85-127 = EG RESET
Try all three TRIGGER MODES to see which one is best for you.
