I’d get the 101, 102 and 103 in this configuration. Then I’d get the 105, 107 and 105B in this configuration. On the poll, I chose A&B. I’m all for customization!
i chose B. just because i wouldnt be able to afford 3 in one shot, and id want to pick and choose which ones go where. id also like to add the option of different color sides, to match the voyager select. my dream was to have the Voyager OS white wash, the white wash theremin and then my foogers customised to match
I’d rather have some Foogers set up like this, as I’d only like to have them racked. However, if the price was higher than just buying the stomp box style Fooger, I know I’d settle for the cheaper option.
I put that option on there because I thought that it would cost them a little money setting up the tools to do that and spending the time to redesign the wiring to accomodate for the moved jacks plus the cost of getting the wood cut. So we would have to pay probably a little extra to get them to do that initially.
I think with the design of the majority of their foogers, they could use the same housing for different setups. THe exceptions being the Murf and the Freq.
But hey, I suggested a cheek piece trade in program and if we all submitted out regular foogers to have them rehoused, then they would have a lot of cheek pieces to start that program going, provided they weren’t all scratched up.
What I plan on doing is taking the design for the existing side pannels, and making my own that mount two foogers together, eliminating the 1" or so of space lost between foogers. I pedal board mount mine, and gaining the total of 2" or so between 3 foogers would be good for me.
I would like to see Moog spend their time developing new gear and tech support rather than making cosmetic changes. However, it seems they make more money on the customized cabinets et al. So perhaps that will keep the company solvent. These hard economic times could be detrimental to small companies like Moog and DSI.
I don’t think it woudl take a lot of design to implement the type of change to a more rack friendly chassis like I propose. And theres no change in the design of the foogers so it should be fairly simple to implement.
Moog still caters to the celebrity crowd so maybe they won’t have to pay anyone off. THat would be pretty tragic.
these are a friend of mine, these types of mods are not difficult.
to do on your own and enhance playing, patching, noodling, to the nth degree.
currently I took a cue from i believe colorform and am creating the cp-251 style mod. I just need to create 3 Buchla 200e style boats and wood sides and then it will be complete housing 9 units, pics when im done.
After getting my MF-103, I can see that it would be fairly easy to make up some wooden inserts that would replace the sides, and be used to tie several pedals together, and a couple of additional end pieces with ears that can be used to rack mount the whole shebang. And, using Voltor’s idea, the ins and outs can be plugged into a patch bay.
About the only drawback might be fabricating tabs to close up the gap that would be created by the sloping panel. Other than that, it sounds like something you could do in an afternoon, and not for too much money.
