custom keyboard control on early 60's modulars.

Does anyone know anything about the (probably) first example of touch sensitive mechanism as used by W Carlos on the 60’s modulars.
I gather that variable capacitors were used along with other stuff to effect touch sensitivity. Also Custom Touch Envelope Generators were used.

Did the variable capacitors merely control volume/velocity?

On the “custom touch envelopes” I see 3 controls which are Sustain heigth..Decay time…and Attack height…with Sustain out and PERCUSSION out jacks. Theres no explanation as to how they functioned.
The only input seems to be S Trig.

Any idea what they would have fed? 902’s? 904’s? or some other custom module?
