I know, it’s not a Moog, so it’s a bit off topic. But I want to learn about it and I trust everyone on here to give me valuable accurate information. There’s a local used music store that just got one in yesterday. It’s a 1977 model, and it’s in mint condition. I’m interested in owning it and I’m wanting to know how much I should expect to pay? They haven’t priced it yet. Any information on the synth would be great!
I played one a long time ago.
It’s a string machine with other voices like brass, piano, harpsi. The strings sound like a string machine - it can do ensembles but not much else. The brass and other voices are a joke compared to today’s machines.
I had a store offer me one for nothing when they couldn’t sell it. That should tell you its worth.
A few have cycled through Spaceman here in Ottawa over the past few years (two that I remember). They seem to go for about $200, but sit around for a really long time before selling.
