CP-251 to Moog Modular format.

I’ve just bought a second CP-251 because it was a lot cheaper than buying all the individual modules for my modular.
I’m going to remove it from it’s case and mount the board into a blank panel from my modular. Anyone with a good way to label the panel, I’m all ears.

(Picked up a CP-251 and an MF-102 for under $500 this weekend. Will probably do the same to the ring mod, too.) This will greatly add to the utility of my modular.

Why not just get the rack-mount kit for it? I would think the time and hassle saved would be worth the cost.

But that’s just me…

+1, get a 3-space rackmount, they look great, albeit the cp251s are a pain to rack.

I want the functions in my modular case, not offboard. That is why I bought a second 251.

If you get the rack-mount kit, you will be able to incorporate it into your modular. It won’t be an outboard component, it’ll be right in the rack with your other modules. Or, maybe I’m missing something…

It has to fit in the gray blank area. (all the functions of a 251 would take up 8 spaces of standard modules instead of 3.)

I don’t want or need to run long cables to off board modules this way.

Unless you have something under the black 4-space panel blank and the nameplate panel, it appears you may already have the 8 spaces you need.
