Would someone be willing to post the footprint (width / length) space that the CP-251 requires?
I’m considering acquiring one in the near future, but need to know the size so I can plan for my VERY limited “studio” space I currently have available.
I don’t have the exact measurements but the rack mount kit is the best solution and it’s 3U. Since you’ll be patching in/out, etc. you don’t exactly want it sliding around on a desk so if you can build up or put a small rack on a shelf, that will be best.
I actually have one that I’m not using but mine did not come with the wood block that goes in between the CP-251 and VX-351 (or 352) so I’ve been reluctant to sell it.
Modded to fit? Sort of. But it’s your 251 that will need to be modded, not the rack mount. The fact is, that since the screws on each side of the Minitaur are NOT countersunk, they cause it to just miss, from a width perspective.
But I’ve created rather nice, low profile Oak end cheeks for the 251 (I actually made it for the VX-351 but I think the screw pattern is identical).
If you get to the point where you’ve purchased the Rack mount kit and what to give it a try, hit me with a PM and I’ll mail you the wood block to see if it works. I created 2 extras when I machined mine (see pic). One issue you will have to deal with is that the jacks at the top of the Minitaur may ‘bump’ into the unit that you have racked above the 3u mount, OR you can merely get your hands on some right angle adapters and make up your own cables.
