I can tell that I’m a new Slim Phatty owner, and I’m really happy with it.
Actually I didn’t expect that much power in this little beast!
So If there is so many options, I want to control them with several controllers.
I decided that I will use Akai MPK25 for main controller, with all options… all kinds of CCs on rotary controls and I really like drum pads to send program change message to toggle between different sounds.
My question is how to hook up Mp-201 to have more control with my foot.
Can I run MIDI out of MP to MIDI in on MPK?
Also I want to have a connection with Live directly to Slim over USB.
Is that ok?
One thing… I want to use CV outs on MP for foogers, so those are already used.
I also have CP so I think thats going into CV ins on Slim.
Is there way to patch my laptop with MP and Slim to have them in sync, and connection like I already said above?
Ok, I read all the manuals… MPK, SLIM, MP…
I guess my second MIDI cable is not working, that was the problem.
But I programmed the MPK to have all the additional controls (advance preset and LFO/Arp sync) on rotary and switches and it works like a magic. I also programed drum pads to send PCM for slim presets.
I organized two banks of rotary controls, one for LFO,VCF,EG controls and one for ARP.
I have to buy MIDI cable to hook up the MP going into MPK for additional foot control.
Only thing that I just don’t understand is why Slim can’t recognize aftertouch… well it actually recognize it but you can’t do anything with it, or I’m just doing something wrong here…
I would love to have this option to assign it to modulation on/off…
But this thing is amazing… I love the way it works and menus are simple to use…
I find precision control really useful for tuning osc 2 freq and some other parameters.
Now I have to experiment wit Cp-251 and foogers and make a little patch bay for CV ins on Slim.
I have to say that I’m more than impressed so far.
