Controlled Voltage

I’m totally new to analogue syntheses and have a prolly dumb question, but can’t find an answer so here it goes.

When controlling certain parameters like lfo’s and filters it can be done with CV. Like on the voyager there are inputs on the back.
So.. the cables you’d be using, are those the same as you use for audio? Or are they a different kind?
And when using a RME, you are not having a modwheel. So can this be replaced by a CV input or do you have to send MIDI CC1 to the Rack?

You can use the same cables for CV as audio, no problem.
I don’t quite understand your mod wheel question though.

He means, can you control the mod wheel function with CV, or do you have to use it through MIDI.

I’m pretty sure you can use it through CV, but you have to buy the VX-352 CV expander for the RME, as it does’nt come with any CV ins or outs natively.

If you have a midi controller, its much easier, just plug and play.. I use my LP to control the RME, it’s easy peasy.

Ok, thanks for the advice, I just received my RME yesterday and it’s clear now. Didn’t notice the RME hasn’t cv inputs :frowning:. But anyhow, I think I’m in love …
