connecting ring modulator to my prodigy question...

this is a follow up to a post i made a few weeks ago.
i want to run the LFO from a MF ring modulator into my prodogy to create an auto trigger effect.

i don’t have the ring modulator yet, but i wanted to know if i have the right input for it before i buy it.

looking at the back of my prodigy i have sepatate inputs for each of the following:
“S-TRIG IN/OUT”
“KYBO IN/OUT”
“OSC IN”
“VCF IN”
“SYNC IN”
“AUDIO OUT”

the S-TRIG IN/OUT looks like it requires a special cable. what kind of cable is this called and where do i get them?

as always thanks for the help!

Hi Keith,

I can’t answer your question but I can tell you a little bit more about the sockets. Most vintage mono synths use the CV/Gate regime and that equates to the ‘keyboard in’ & S-trig respectively on the Prodigy. The CV out from another synth/sequencer can be directly connected to the keyboard in on the Prodigy. The S-trig (Gate in) is a little bit different. Apart from needing a Cynch Jones connector (see ebay) you also need to convert the usual gate output on your other device to S-trig. Again, I’ve noticed recently somebody offering bespoke leads on ebay for this. Alternatively you could make you’re own (but you still need to get old of a cynch jones plug, or change it for a jack socket):

I know this hasn’t answered your question but I hope it’s given a bit more info about the sockets on the back of the Prodigy

This seemed like a great deal to me:

To me, it’s not worth the hassle of making one up yourself.
