Concertmate MG-1 transformer?

I just came into possession of an MG-1 which needs a new transformer. The service manual lists the secondary as 38VAC, 5A! I’ve been searching for several days and haven’t found anythings matching this criteria and a few people have suggested that the 5A may actually be 0.5A (i.e. 500mA). I’m hoping someone here can point me in the right direction or would at least know if the service manual is correct!

A 5 amp transformer is large and heavy.
0.5 (500mA) is far more likely.
If you can’t find a 38VAC xfmr, a 44VAC (more common) might do.
