Concerned about damaging unit

Hi , sorry if this is the dumbest topic on here but I watched a video on YouTube where a guy uses a beatstep pro to control his dfam , apparently the bsp uses a cv of 10v or higher (12.8v) I read somewhere from its drum gates , the dfam is designed to take 5v (or 10 tolerant ) in its trigger ??
I’m new to this as you can tell, I’m a guitar player
I found a bsp but am nervous about patching it to dfam . Any info much appreciated

Thanks

Check out the instruction manual for both to see their tolerances and configurability. For example, the Beatstep manual says in secton 9.1.4 that you can configure its output in the Midi Control Center app on your computer:

Compare that with the DFAM manual.
