ClusterFlux on drums = awesome

I recently had a chance to experiment a bit in the studio with my Moogerfoogers. I just wanted to comment on how great the Clusterflux is for drum production. Blend in a little bit of chorus (LFO very low) on any of the drums and it gives them this rich, fat sound. Especially love it on my snare and toms. I was recently thinking about ditching the pedal, but this guy is staying. Can’t seem to get the same effect without sounding too 80’s with other chorus pedals. Give it a shot the next time you’re recording.

You are correct, this is an awesome tone tool in the studio. I use it to warm anything up that needs it. I love how transparent it can be, subtle, but just right - like a good compressor, but better! I’ve used it to loosen some bad sounding room tracks that were completely useable after. It does a great job at stereo sounds too.

Ok, this is very, very interesting.

I bought a ClusterFlux 2 months ago, after reading specs and forum praise. Tried it. Found it cool. But haven’t found the usage yet in what I do these days… which involves a digital drum machine. So I definitely will try that trick.

Thanks for sharing

Use the smoothed S&H LFO waveform (only accessible via midi) for a non-rhythmic LFO. It’s awesome!

This is a demo of the clusterflux I did when it first came out, having ran my 808 through it. I found that the clusterflux is amazing with drum(machines). As you all know, getting the feedback to make it’s own rhythm with the flux is super cool, and is mastered in ways that seem less obvious. I found that the levels of the sounds(on the 808) and the levels of the flux(drive, output, etc etc) all are super touchy when trying to get sweet feedback riffs. Even the slightest change in a parameter can change it from useful to somethign noisey.

Anyway, just thought I’d share my shitty demo I did eons ago.

Now imagine vasago’s cool drum processing (above link),
but add the ability to change that constant pitch you’re
hearing to any notes you want via a MIDI keyboard.
