I’m kinda curoius how you enable the spillover mode. I’m assuming it’s via the dip switches but being able to turn that function on/off with a footswitch would be much handier.
The lack of LFO wave out is kindofa bummer. As is lack of LFO waveform CV control.
Also, I noticed the Mix CV is a departure from previous Moogers that only feature CV control of parameters that are enclosed in the faceplate graphics that define the various “modules” of Moogers.
I’m sure you can change modes with MIDI => MIDI footswitch.

The LFO waveform seems to be discrete (not continuous like a Freqbox, Voyager or Phatty Osc). As such, I’d imagine a switch function and again MIDI control if you need it.

They’ve squeezed the Mix knob into the centre this time! Usually, only Drive and Output live there.
I think it would be a true crime against humanity for this new Fooger to NOT have an LFO output.
It would be the first thing from them since the NY Moog Osc modules that would have a multiple waveform LFO out (at least that I can possibly think of).
Just that output by itself would be a VERY handy modulation source, especially with the S&H which I just can’t get enough of.
I have to wonder though, if it will accept a tapstep input like the MURF, to keep it from suffering the same fate as the murf, which is the fact that the processor is easily overloaded when you start tweaking knobs.
I have heard the audio demos (ask and ye shall receive, yes?) and I was not immediately sold.
I LIKE the mix knob, I think the phaser should have had one also…I use them frequently instead of bypassing the effect. I wonder if I could get used to it being so dinky.
I think the idea of the Midi Foogers is great, but I hope that it comes with less quirks than the 105m, at least as per my experience.
I’ve watched the Create Digital Music video again, and the Rate LED follows the LFO/Sample and Hold. So, at least for the internal clock, an LFO out mod should be possible if one doesn’t come as stock.
Hopefully the same behaviour occurs under MIDI clock.
I’m wondering how to use the Sample and Hold waveform on this pedal?
I read the manual, and there was no reference to it in the LFO instructions.
Is S+H the same thing as Random?
Is Random truly random, or just cycling through the waveforms in a regular or irregular pattern?
I will be using this baby, the exact minute I receive it in a recording session for my friend’s EP, and would like a clue on how to access this feature.
I’m also mega bummed that I cannot access the Smooth Random from the faceplate, but I suppose that’s all the more reason to get a MP-201 (or two). I need a midi interface bad.
Manual is a bit light compared to past Fooger manuals but I suppose it’s a sign of the times. Many a guitar pedal (these days) just touch on the basics.
As for S+H, yes, that is otherwise known as random or better said, it’s a rhythmic sampling (according to rate clock) of noise which produces a random waveform. Whether or not this is a pure analog representation (doubt it) or something done in software, my bet is on the latter as it is within the Multipedal.
It’s a shame that Flux doesn’t have an LFO out, but the fact that you can drive the pedal with another LFO (like from a MultiPedal) is handy.
Mine will be here on Monday so says UPS. Shipped from Wisconsin to NJ today. The selfish side of me ask if I had a choice of serial #, the response was “I think we have two of them so…”.
I was trying to get one myself but it was utterly impossible without having full control over the exposure (which is impossible on my Blackberry and my D700 is without a lens after selling off all my primes).
Nova*Musik - as mentioned, UPS tracking (just checked again) still says Monday by end of day; fingers crossed.
In case other stateside Foogers didn’t know, Nova is the absolute best out there. I purchased my Old School, Taurus III (which they shipped me well ahead of many that direct ordered as far as a year prior), and other gear from them. Eric will tell you the same.
+1 for nova. Upon hearing that the mp201 was being discontinued I added an “open box” mp 201 to my MF108 pre order. I got an email saying that they were out of stock, but would I be okay with a new one for the discounted price!
