cleaning keys on MiniMoog D

some of the keys on my MiniMoog D sometimes did not work properly. It creates a strange sound curve, starting from the correct frequency but then ramps up towards a very high frequency (probably out of my range of hearing).
I assume that this behaviour is related to a dirt connection of the key. I tried to fix this problem very carefully with a cotton bud and alcohol (which works fine to clean the recording head on a Revox for example) but no success. And with my very bad experiences with anti rust sprays I had with a WahWah pedal (how stupid young people may be) I’m scared to use sprays. Any recommendation to solve this problem (not with the WahWah)?

The minimoog keyboard is a two buss contact system, one is CV the other is trigger. The sequence that they make contact is important. The CV must make contact before trigger or you get the ramp to supersonic pitch you describe. Either the contact is still dirty (use denatured alcohol, anything less leaves behind a film) or the contact is distorted. If they are spring contacts, be very careful as they are deformed easily. They are gold plated so do NOT handle them with metal pliers or you will damage the microscopic gold plating.

many thanks for the reply and the hint about the two contacts and its sequence. I think that’s probably related to the problem rather than dirt. Unfortunately I’m not skilled in surgery. I think I need to ask Rudi for help.
