CHEAP, Vintage Moog MKPH 12-Stage Phaser Rackmount

Looking for a Vintage Moog MKPH 12-Stage Phaser? I’m reluctantly listing mine here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/220954443734?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649#ht_500wt_1276

I was planning on building my rack around it, but I need the funds for other things. You absolutely won’t see one in perfect working order for less than this. I’d love for this to go to a Moog enthusiast!

Feel free to contact me with questions…

This unit has been relisted and is still for sale for a steal of a price…

Only 2 posts, and each of them are only for advertising your 12 stage phaser for sale?
You’re lucky it’s a Moog item, otherwise you’d probably get flushed out.

And as you can see by having to re-list it, your price is still too high, as anyone can get a modern MoogerFooger MF-103 for much less than that. And even though there are others listed for a much higher price than yours, they’re not selling either… :unamused:

I guess the definition of cheap is different for rich kids.

sold! the economy must be improving, eh?

Ooops, so that’s what the “Buy it now” button does.

Actually it isn’t sold, did you click on the first link by mistake?

I didn’t buy it! I just clicked the 1st link, didn’t realize it was relisted- I’m sure it’s a wonderful sounding unit, but with that amount of moola, I could buy things I actually need!

I have seen one listed recently other than this one. I think it was for 11 or 12. So yeah, not a bad deal. Not much more than the MF-104.

I am not skilled or wealthy enough for such a piece of equipment. Nor do I make money from the music I make.

Good luck with the sale.

Thanks, Sir Nose. I think it’s good deal as well. I used a service online that looks at eBay auctions from the past several years to value the item. Mine is actually the cheapest price I could find except for one that was more scratched and had non-original knobs that sold for $857 last year. Most of the ones that sold were in the $1100 range if I remember correctly.

I’m sorry if I broke some kind of rule by posting this – I just want this item to go to a Moog collector/enthusiast, so I listed it here. I’d be happy to delete the thread if I have violated policy. I saw that many others have done the same thing on this site, so I posted mine.

Same here. I already have an MF-103, and this, as far as I can tell from research I’ve done, is the same as the 103. Good luck, though!

Actually I believe the vintage model could be superioras it has more stages to choose from. Id like to hear them side by side and Id also like to hear the forum member with the prototype chorus flange post videos of that gem.

The old ones are nice sounding phase shifters, but the switches are all pretty bad.
The rotary selectors have a habit of cracking inside. (as did this unit being advertised apparently.)
And the toggles are usually filled with a goop that makes them hard to move. (aged cramolin?)

I’ve never compared them to a Moogerfooger, but pretty sure money is better spent buying a new MF over one of these.
Otherwise, the only thing I can think of is that it’s rack-mountable.

i only have the old one,( with good kept and serviced pots and switches )
i can’t compare, but the 12 stage really is one of the best outbox effects have. useable on many sources, guitar, synth’s ,voice, it always fits in the mix, even slight amounts can make a sound " special" almost psychoacoustic.
also the ability to chose the number of stages of filter and resonance, helps a lot in this respect.
very good effect processor to mho

After reading this I decide to buy a second MF-103
Would two MF-103s be a better buy so you got run the pair as true stereo?

IMHO, yes!
