can i send a CC message to the LP to change preset?
i don’t think so from my reading, but i like to be pleasantly surprised 
yes, the LP transmits and receives standard MIDI program change messages.

of course you can.
i’m using a 5 octaves midi keyboard (connected to LP midi in) for live gigs.
i can easily change LP’s preset with the buttons/controllers on the midi keyboard (way better than twisting LP’s fragile value encoder).
The value encoder is not fragile. Mine’d be broke by now if it was!
