Can't send patterns to MuRF 105M (Mac)

First I have to say that I’m a complete idiot when it comes to MIDI. The only thing I know is to put the cord in the MIDI Out on one device and MIDI In on another. If it doesn’t work then I’m out of ideas.

So. Just got the MIDI MuRF and I wanted to design my own pattern to try. But I don’t know what settings to use. Don’t even know if the computer program is correctly installed. I can design patterns and save the. But can’t load them or send to the MuRF.

I use a Saffire 6 USB soundcard. And I’ve connected its MIDI Out port to the MuRFs MIDI In. What settings do I have to do more?

The MuRF Downloader program, should I use that somehow? It does recognize my Saffire 6 soundcard. There’s no such indication with the MuRF program.

Follow the MIDI set up instructions in the pattern editor manual. Choose your card and the MIDI Chanel.

Next, create a pattern.

On the MuRF itself train the pattern switch to 1. I found when you have the pattern dial set to the pattern you are trying to change it won’t do it.

In the editor select the “send pattern as” drop down to one of the patterns - like 2 for example. Under function, choose send pattern.

Now switch the MuRF to pattern 2 and you should hear the change.

I had some trouble getting it to work, but it does, you just have to find the correct settings.

If the MuRF is the only MIDI device connected, what MIDI channel to use? I’m not gonna control any parameters, just send a pattern.

Ok. Now it worked! Just had to connect everything again and them start the program. Did as you suggested as well, Alien8.

Don’t try to save the patterns, that seems not to work. I tend to edit patterns live, with the results being heard in real time. Once you have clicked “send pattern as” and the murf is set to the same pattern number, it updates itself as you write the pattern.
