Trying to layer the Voyager with my MonoMachine (as I’ve described in the thread I’ve askes you if you layer synths and also tries to get you to encourage me to buy a Minitaur ) and it works fine when it comes to playing the keys. But when I turn knobs and press switches the MonoMachine changes settings. I’ve scrolled through all menus, started with Master, but I can’t find a way to stop sending MIDI CC (at least that is what I believe is causing the problem). When I read the manual it says that there should be something called MIDI OUT ON/OFF. But I can’t find that option. Here’s what’s in my MASTER Functions:
Local control
Midi input/output
Midi Run. Status
Midi merge func
The transfer does not work correctly with a cheap MIDI interface without own drivers.
The order for the update is:
First select in the MASTER page “Receive Update” and send bank “B”.
Then if the Voyager asks for bank “D” leave “NO” and press ENTER.
In the MASTER menu select “Receive Update” and send bank “A”.
Now when the Voyager asks for bank “C” select “YES” and ENTER and
send bank “C” to the Voyager. Do the same thing with bank “D”.
In the hidden system menu (MASTER, Copyright Info, +1, Global Cursor) you can reset the new CURSOR functions for the actual preset bank.
Sorry, there’s no description for the new functions.
One question though. In the MASTER - MIDI Enables, I´ve managed to turn off sending MIDI CC by choosing, for example, Master Volume. But I can´t find a setting that turns off all MIDI CC Out. Is there one?
Hi MBlom,
in the MASTER menu select “Cursor Button”. Select no. 17 (MIDI Ctrl. Off).
Pressing the CURSOR in the PANEL menu shows “MIDI Enables all off”, pressing the CURSOR again the display shows “MIDI Enables >>> User <<<”.
You can pre-select the MIDI enables in the MIDI Enables menu and switch off all controllers by the CURSOR in the PANEL mode.

Hmm. Selected no 17 in the MASTER menu - Cursor Button. But nothing happens when I press it in Panel mode. Nothing on the display and it still sends MIDI CC.
You have to reset the CURSOR settings as I already wrote:
“In the hidden system menu (MASTER, Copyright Info, +1, Global Cursor) you can reset the new CURSOR functions for the actual preset bank.”
Ok. Sorry, I thought it was an alternative way of doing it. Wish I could’ve blamed it on being a sunday but the truth is I’m such a fool when it comes to menus and settings. Especially MIDI, for some reason.
If you are actually contemplating a new version, how about an “OLD SCHOOL MODE” which when enabled, says “OLD SCHOOL” on the display and jumps to make all switches and knobs active; if you turn off the Voyager and power back on, the setting sticks.
Having come from an OLD SCHOOL, I miss being able to pickup where I left off and I know I can initialize on a new preset and tweak everything but it’s not the same …
If that’s the case, I apologize for the interruption : )
To be honest, the Voyager has a number of interesting features over the Old School but I’m a low budget kind of guy. I took the Voyager on because at the time I needed a Midi keyboard and the feel is fantastic but I’ve since picked up a 5 octave controller for my modular and would trade back in a near even arrangement if the right deal presented itself.
