Assuming Moog sells them, can one replace the rubberized plastic wheels on the LP with the clear Plexiglas ones from a Voyager? I just hate the feel of that rubberized stuff (and the clear ones look so much cooler!)…
Not easily.
Phatty panel’s LHC is 5 1/4" x 5" and has a sloped front which is bent into the sheet metal (no visible screws)
Voyager LHC is ~5 3/4" x less than 4" and has a sharp right angle bend on the right edge with two visible screws
If you’re interested in taking the mechanism apart, you may be able to hack something together but the opening of the slots are also different and diameter of the wheels look slightly different; The wheels are also spaced differently, Phatty is 1 3/16 apart (inside edge to inside edge) and Voyager is 1" exactly; but give Moog tech support a call and see if they’ve done this.
I for one really like the feel of the phatty LHC; but also had my VOS retrofitted with clear flashing wheels. Some here have had issues with the rubber wearing in a funny way but my Tribute wheels are still in really good shape.
Send an email to this guy http://synthwood.com/. He might have something that will fit.
Do that at your own risk. Lots of horror stories about synthwood. ![]()
