Calling all Portland, OR Moogphiles

Hey all you Portland Moog lovers.

We have one of our Moog Forum regulars playing in Portland on Wednesday.

Nick Putrid and his lovely wife, aka the Volts per Octave, are playing at the Mock Crest tavern in North Portland on Wednesday, July 12, from 8:00 to 10:00. The VPO’s were featured in last years Moogfest.

They also played last night at the Ash Street Saloon. That famous Moog bass was shaking the windows, so much so that I feared that they might shatter and hurt someone!!

Nick and his wife have a Model D, a Voyager, a theremin, and an MG1 on stage, with two Little Phatty’s on order to add to the Moog menagarie (not a bad band name–you heard it here first).

If you are free on Wednesday night, come out and support a couple of musicians that are trying to make a living by playing some of our favorite synthesizers.

Hey Dale…

Thanks for your support !

I think the show tonight should be great.. I got an opening act last minute.. A guy named Frank Dufay, who is the most amazing one man band I’ve ever seen.. We opened for him at the ASh st saloon the other night, and the performance was jaw dropping. The guycan play a full drumset (like Terry Bozio) with one hand and foot, while bustin’ somes serious left hand chops on this crazy (rare?) AKAI ANALOG POLYSYNTH all the while creating some intense musical feed back with a mic and strange vocal intonations.. A show not to be missed..

Hope to see you Moogers out there.. Thanks again Dale. You get a free limited edition VPO shirt tonight !

Hot Damn!!!

…and a good time was had by all…

Damn! That’s what I get for not checking the forum yesterday! Oh, well. My wife and I are off to see Quintron and Miss Pussycat on Tuesday, though… No Moogs, but a fun puppet show!

PS, if you need more Moogsters on stage, I’ve got a signature Voyager (in maple), and the sig Etherwave… Now if I can only find a babysitter…
